Our client (aged 56) was unhappy with an anti-malarial drug prescribed by her GP shortly before she was due to travel Africa on her honeymoon. This drug aggravated a pre-existing psychiatric disorder which caused her to suffer from very severe side effects, which not only ruined her wedding but her subsequent honeymoon.
She had to consult a Psychiatrist on her return but, fortunately, within a relatively short period of time, she made a full recovery from this episode.
Correspondence was exchanged between our firm’s hospital negligence solicitors and the GP’s Medical Defence Union, and we were eventually able to settle her claim, a fairly common outcome in hospital negligence cases.
S. J. Edney solicitors obtained £6,500 for this client in 2008
