We acted for the parents of a young man (aged 16) who was admitted to hospital following a road traffic accident in May 2004. The staff in the A & E department failed to diagnose that he had a number of internal injuries. As a consequence, his internal bleeding caused him to have a cardiac arrest and, sadly, he died.

This was a very tragic case and his death was entirely avoidable. The tragedy was compounded because of his young age and lack of financial dependents, which reduced the amount of damages payable in this clinical negligence claim.
