On Friday 15 March 2013, Dr Bains pleaded guilty to 39 counts of sexual assault and voyeurism and asked for a further 65 offences to be taken into consideration at Swindon Crown Court. A further 4 offences will lie on file. Judge Douglas Field remanded Dr Bains in custody to await sentencing at a later date.
Dr Davinderjit Baines Tinkers lane surgery
Dr Davinderjit Bains GP, had been practicing at the Tinkers Lane surgery, Royal Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire.
Detective Inspector Mark Garrett of Wiltshire Police, who led the investigation, said:
“Medical experts who have viewed the footage found the examinations were unnecessary and inappropriate. There were a number who simply couldn’t believe that their GP had betrayed their trust in such a way. Others were outraged and concerned that the footage could have been shared. He is a sexual predator who abused the trust of his patients and his position of authority”.
