Slip on a grape in a supermarket £30,000

Our client, a 63-year-old lady, was shopping in her local Asda supermarket when, in the fruit and vegetable aisle, she slipped on a grape. This caused her to fall to the floor, fracturing her hip. She was rushed to hospital, where she underwent hip replacement surgery.

At the time of settlement she had made an excellent recovery from her surgery.

These cases are often particularly challenging, as we need to prove that the supermarket did not do all it could to ensure that the aisle was free from hazards.

We were able to secure an admission of liability from the supermarket and the claim was settled without court proceedings having to be commenced.

S J Edney Solicitors obtained compensation of £30,000 for this client in 2016
